An animated film depicting Iran's Revolutionary Guards defeating US forces will soon open in Iranian cinemas. The movie's director says he hopes the film will show warmongering President Trump what will happen if the US attacks the Islamic Republic.
The 88-minute film Battle of the Persian Gulf II opens with the US Army attacking an Iranian nuclear reactor, and the US Navy in the Gulf hitting strategic locations across the country.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) then retaliates against the American forces, launching ballistic missiles on the US warships.
They all sink and the film ends as the American ships have turned into an aquarium for fishes at the bottom of the sea, the film's director, Farhad Azima, told Reuters.
Although he said the film's release amid US President Donald Trump's hardline stance against Iran is sheer coincidence, he still hopes it will send the warmongering leader a message.
I hope that the film shows Trump how American soldiers will face a humiliating defeat if they attack Iran, he said.
Azima went on to state that the film, which was four years in the making, is in response to the many Hollywood films and computer games against Iran.
...We made this film as an answer to that propaganda, the 35-year-old said.
He noted, however, that the team behind the film has not received any money from the Iranian government, and that the IRGC had no role in the making of the movie.
Our animators are not working for money, but for their beliefs and their love of the country. Thank God, everyone is surprised that we've managed to create such high-quality production under this poor condition, he said, referring to the film's modest budget.
Azima said screenings of the film will begin as soon as the movie gets the necessary permissions from cultural authorities. Local outlets have reported it will be released sometime this month.

Hundreds of people were arrested and dozens of sexually exploited children and adult victims were rescued across California during a statewide operation to combat human trafficking, the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department announced Tuesday.
More than 30 federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and task forces, including the Los Angeles Regional Human Trafficking Task Force, participated in the third annual Operation Reclaim and Rebuild enforcement operation, according to a sheriffs news release.
The statewide operation took place over the three-day period between last Thursday and Saturday.
In total, 474 arrests were made, including 142 males on solicitation charges, and 36 males on suspicion of pimping, according to figures provided by the Sheriffs Department.
Additionally, 28 commercially and sexually exploited children and 27 adult victims were rescued.
You are worthy of more. And we will work tirelessly with our partners to provide you services and help you rebuild your life, Sheriff Jim McDonnell said, addressing the victims during a news conference on Tuesday.
The minors who were recovered during the operation were being cared for by various children and family services agencies across the state, according to sheriffs officials. The Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking and the Saving Innocence organization were coordinating efforts to help victims in L.A. County.
Operation Reclaim and Rebuild focused on rescuing victims of sexual slavery and human trafficking, providing victims with much-needed services, identifying and arresting their captors, seeking successful prosecutions, and disrupting the demand for vulnerable victims by targeting their customers, the release stated.
Police agencies and other trafficking task forces throughout our state joined in the enforcement operation to send the clear message that California law enforcement shares a unified mandate: Human trafficking must not be tolerated in our state!

Fossilised bacteria have been uncovered in two separate locations in South Africa, and theyve been dated to 2.52 billion years ago - long before oxygen started to saturate Earths atmosphere.
Instead of thriving in oxygen, like the trees and multicellular organisms that came after them did, these bacteria oxidised sulphur to survive, suggesting that life could be sustained on a planet with less than one-thousandth of a percent of Earths current oxygen levels.
The fossils were uncovered in a layer of hard, silica-rich rock in the Kaapvaal Craton of the Limpopo Province in South Africa - one of the two remaining areas in the world where Earths crust from 3.6 to 2.5 million years ago is still accessible.
The sulphur-oxidising bacteria they revealed were "exceptionally large", according to the University of Cincinnati team that uncovered them, indicating that these life forms had no problem living in the absence of oxygen.
"These are the oldest reported fossil sulphur bacteria to date," says one of the researchers, Andrew Czaja.
"And this discovery is helping us reveal a diversity of life and ecosystems that existed just prior to the Great Oxidation Event, a time of major atmospheric evolution."

This year's Oktoberfest saw the least amount of people turning up at the Munich event in 15 years, but still experienced an increase in sex crimes reported to police, the Local writes.
Around 5.6 million people visited the festival this year, a drop of 300,000 compared to the previous year. The number represents the lowest since 2001, when 5.5 million attended the event, which took place soon after the 9/11 terror attacks.
As the numbers dropped, so did the amount of crime with one type a notable exception. Thirty-one sex crimes were reported to police this year, compared to 21 in 2015, the Local reported.
Other incidents occurred which didn't always involve official police reports, according to the support group Safer Wiesn for Girls and Women, which counted 215 women who came to a security checkpoint for help. Eighteen of those had experienced violence. That number also represents an increase from last year, when 197 women came to the checkpoint for help.
The crimes occurred despite increased security at the event, which saw organizers arrange entrance checks for everyone attending the festival grounds for the first time in the event's 200-year history.
The increased security came amid ongoing terrorism concerns throughout Germany, following recent attacks. In July, a shooting spree in Munich left 10 people dead. That same week, a teenager in Wrzburg attacked train passengers with an ax and a man blew himself up outside a music festival in Ansbach.
Oktoberfest is no stranger to terrorism. One of the worst terrorist attacks in post-war history occurred at the festival in 1980, when a right-wing extremist set off a bomb that killed him and 11 others at the main entrance to the event.

Islamist terror attacks, the rise of the far-right and Britains decision to quit the EU may create such destabilizing conditions that the very survival of Jews in Europe would be impossible, a high-ranking rabbi told the European Parliament.
The head of Conference of European Rabbis and chief rabbi of Moscow, Pinchas Goldschmidt, told the MEPs that the European Jews feel as if they are standing on train tracks with trains coming at each other with ever increasing speed.
One train is the train of radical Islam and Islamic terrorism ... the other train is the anti-Semitism of old Europe, the extreme right, he explained, as quoted by the Independent.
Goldschmidt said that radical Islam and far-right anti-Semitism represent existential threats for European Jews, adding that both trains have to be halted before its too late.
According to the statistics voiced Tuesday by Martin Schultz, the president of the European Parliament, every fifth Jew in Europe has experienced verbal or physical violence, while the Jewish population in Europe has decreased from almost four million in 1945 to barely more than one million today.
The question that Jews ask themselves, not only as Jews but as Europeans, does Europe in its present form have a future after the [terrorist] attacks in Paris, in Brussels, in Copenhagen, and after Brexit? the rabbi said in his speech before the European parliament on Tuesday.
Goldschmidt urged the EU to do more to integrate the waves of immigrants flooding Europe into the European value system in order for them to give up the rabid anti-Semitism and radicalism, which is rampant in the Middle East.
If the situation in Europe remains unchanged, the European Union is at risk of becoming a failed experiment, said Moscows chief rabbi.

A Clemson University administrator is banning students from displaying references to Harambe in dorms because it promotes racism and rape culture.
On Friday, a Clemson administrator sent out the new policy through an email to Resident Advisors instructing them to tell students to take down any Harambe references by September 30.
Due to an incident that happened earlier this week, we are no longer allowing any reference to Harambe (or any other spelling) to be displayed on doors, halls, billboards, or windows, said the email which was leaked to Campus Reform.
The incident reportedly involves an insensitive Harambe meme being sent to a freshman.
If residents are asking why they have to take them down you can share that there was a report from an individual about a meme being offensive and bias [sic] in nature and as a result all Harambe references are no longer allowed within our community, the email read.
Due to the incident students will no longer be able to publicly display Harambe signs and memes after September 30. By then, they all have to be taken down.
Harambe memes and signs can still be displayed inside of dorm rooms but they can not be publicly displayed.
In an email response to a students question about why Harambe references would not be publicly displayed, Graduate Community Director Brooks Artis wrote, although I (nor your RA) can share the incident that was reported [that] resulted resulted in this change, we have to remember that we all come different backgrounds and have different identities that shape how we are affected by different references.
Brooks added that even though the school is not banning the word, I want to encourage you to think about what you are saying and how someone who may be a different gender, race, culture, or sexuality than you may take the comment.

An ultra-Orthodox Jewish hate preacher who has provoked outrage for his views on the disabled, women, Holocaust victims, Chinese people and homosexuals is planning to visit Britain to spread his message.
Britains Jewish community has expressed outrage over Rabbi Yosef Mizrachis proposed speaking tour in the autumn, with hundreds of people signing an online petition protesting his highly offensive, bigoted and hateful views.
The Israeli-born rabbi, who is now based in New York, has said he believes autism and Downs Syndrome are the consequences of sins committed in a previous life.
He links the spread of cancer and other diseases to immorality and lack of modesty, and compares women who have lost their virginity to an open bottle of cola, saying they are virtually nothing.
Last year, he said only 1 million real Jews perished at the hands of the Nazis, not 6 million.
Mizrachi has also previously stated that Ashkenazi Jews, Jews of Eastern European origin, were partly responsible for the Holocaust because of inter-marriage and the secular lifestyles they led.
After the devastating earthquake in Nepal last year, he posted a before and after image with the caption: All the idol worshipping places in Nepal are now destroyed.

A wave of sexual assaults and fatal Islamist attacks in Europe have some German politicians calling for a loosening of gun-control laws.
The leader of the Alternative for Germany party, Frauke Petry, said in a recent interview that Islamist attacks in Germany and elsewhere suggest that the German people should be able to arm themselves with firearms and other means of self-defense.
"Many people are increasingly feeling unsafe. Every law-abiding citizen should be in a position to defend themselves, their family and their friends," Petry said.
"We all know how long it takes until the police can get to the scene, especially in sparsely populated places," she added.
Europe has seen a flood of immigrants in recent years, as persons fleeing the Syrian civil war and the rise of the Islamic State have poured over from the Middle East and settled in northern countries, including France, Germany and England.
Growing concerns over the migrant crisis, and the threat of Islamic terrorism, have boosted the Alternative for Germany's standing in the country, and the group is expected to perform well in upcoming votes in Berlin and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, according to Reuters.
Germany currently has some of the strictest gun control laws in all of Europe.
"Firearm owners must obtain a weapons license for which applicants must generally be at least 18 years old and show they have they have a reason for needing a weapon," Reuters noted.
But with the recent spate of fatal Islamist attacks, coupled with a wave of sexual assaults carried out by Middle Eastern immigrants, some German politicians are arguing now in favor of increased access to firearms.

A protestor in Ferguson, Missouri was hit by a car traveling at high speed while attending a protest on the anniversary of the death of Michael Brow. The protestor was standing alone, in the middle of a multi-lane highway when the accident happened.
The driver of the car seemingly never even saw the protestor who was standing in the middle of the road. Other protestors were standing near the side of the road.
After the protestor was hit by the car, other members of the group of protestors drew firearms and opened fire on the car as it tried to escape the angry protestors.
According to a local media report:
Others among the roughly 75 protesters began trying to cut off the car, which then reversed direction to try to avoid the crowd, according to several witnesses.
At that point, witnesses said, several protesters pulled out guns and began chasing and firing at the fleeing car.
I just started screaming, and the bullets started flying, and I started screaming some more, said Heather DeMian, of St. Charles, a regular protester who has been live-streaming Ferguson protests.
It appears the driver did not intentionally strike the protester, according to Ferguson spokesman Jeff Small, who said the woman is being very, very cooperative with police.
Investigators say the woman was simply driving down West Florissant at nighttime, unaware someone was standing in the street, until it was too late to stop before hitting them, Small said in a statement Wednesday morning.
The womans car had several bullet holes in it from the gunfire of the protestors, but no one was injured by the gunfire. Police say the woman is cooperative and there are no charges filed so far against the driver or protestors.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) The fatal shooting of a Kansas City, Kansas, police officer was not part of a planned ambush, but the work of someone trying to evade arrest, authorities said Wednesday.
Police Chief Terry Zeigler said during a news conference that authorities have two young men in custody, but declined to give details about possible charges. The department is working with prosecutors and planned to present the case to them "hopefully later today," Zeigler said.
While the attack isn't part of the recent string of shootings of police in the U.S., Zeigler said the hate against police has got to stop.
"The crime does not fit the national narrative of planned attacks against law enforcement officers, but it does fit the narrative fact that words matter. The anti-hate speech has got to stop because the consequences are real," the chief said
Well, until Law Enforcement takes some ownership in the mess they have a direct hand in with so many bad cops with so many videos of blatant murder by cops, I would not expect it to improve. They need to change their culture to a zero tolerance for bad cops.
in my opinion, both sides are guilty of creating this mess, the cops and criminals.

srael and Turkey have reached an agreement to normalize ties, a senior Israeli official told reporters, according to Reuters. This will end bitter rift over the Israeli Navys killing of nine Turkish citizens during a Gaza flotilla raid in 2010.
The agreement, which took three years to reach, is expected to be officially announced on Monday, said the official traveling with Israels Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is currently in Rome. The restoration of full diplomatic relations that deteriorated after the Israeli navy's killed nine Turkish and one Turkish-American pro-Palestinian activists in 2010 has been brokered with the help of Washington.
Israel conducted an operation against six civilian ships that belonged to the Gaza Freedom Flotilla in international waters of the Mediterranean Sea. The ships fit by the Free Gaza Movement and the Turkish Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief were carrying humanitarian and construction supplies to the blockaded Gaza Strip.
The deal is likely to involve compensation (of around $20 million) to the families of the killed Turks and higher Turkish aid and development projects for Gaza, Israeli media report.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reportedly pledged to make effort to release the bodies of two Israeli soldiers that are held by the Hamas organization in the Gaza Strip and two other Israeli civilians.

Dying Liberal MP Mauril Belanger's private member's bill to make the national anthem more gender neutral cleared its final hurdle in the House of Commons today, passing by a vote of 225 to 74.
Bill C-210, which would change the second line of the anthem from "in all thy sons command" to "in all of us command," will now go to the Senate. Blanger was in the House for the vote.
After the vote nearly all MPs in the House stood and sang the national anthem.
The anthem change has been a Blanger cause for years but has taken on far greater urgency in recent months after he was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease and his condition rapidly deteriorated.
The outcome of today's vote appeared to be a foregone conclusion early on as most Liberals and New Democrats supported the measure going into the vote, while the Conservatives, who oppose the bill, have run out of political tactics to slow it.
But the bill will still need to clear the Senate before it becomes law.
Conservative Senator Nancy Ruth, the bill's sponsor in the Upper Chamber, told CBC News she believes the legislation has enough support to pass but it's unclear whether that can happen before the Senate rises for the summer.

Islamic State militants are frequently transported across the Syrian border to Turkish hospitals for treatment, according to eyewitness accounts collected by RT on the ground. Their crossing was allegedly ensured by Turkish officials.
Both Islamic State (IS, previously ISIS/ISIL) and Free Syrian Army fighters were able to cross the border from Syria into Turkey en masse and receive medical help only to then be allowed to go back to resume fighting in Syria, the head of a local doctors association told RTs Lizzie Phelan.
Phelan visited Gaziantep, a city in south-central Turkey some 60 kilometers from the Syrian border. Eyewitnesses and doctors told the RT correspondent that most of the IS fighters were treated in the border city of Kilis south of Gaziantep.
Many wounded ISIS militants or FSA [Free Syrian Army] fighters were brought to the border in pick-up trucks, not ambulances, Medical Association Chair in Gaziantep and Kilis Hamza Agca said. Many were unconscious and bleeding when they were brought to us.
The injured men were apparently driven right from a war zone and doctors often had to deal with things like grenades falling out of their pockets, Agca added.
One doctor from Kilis also confirmed to RT that they were receiving fighters from across the Turkish-Syrian border, including IS militants. The doctor said on condition of anonymity that he was just one of the doctors who treated terrorists in Kilis.
The medic described discovering suicide vests on some of the IS patients and feeling terrified as he was forced to take them off.
The doctor added that the flow of IS militants being admitted to Turkish hospitals has decreased, but they still see militants admitted every couple of weeks.
